Starting a business is hard enough. If your email isn’t working efficiently from the beginning, keeping up with staff and clients can be tricky.
The email setup for Black Pearl was a self-desribed “mess”. It was a mix of Office365 email boxes with their own domain being forward to generic gmail.com addresses where they did their actual work. They preferred Gmail’s interface and mobile apps to Office. They also had a pretty deep folder/label structure in Gmail for client tracking and communication. What they wanted was everything in one place while not losing their folder structure. Unfortunately, there are no built-in ways to deal with this from Google or Microsoft.
The solution was to signup for a GSuite business account, move the domain from Office365 to Google, and individually migrate and merge the Office and generic Gmail accounts into the new GSuite accounts. Now everything is in one place and things are working smoothly.
